The Centre d’Information GAy et LEsbien – CIGALE is happy to welcome Sophie Labelle for a discussion evening.
Sophie Labelle is a cartoonist from Québec using comics to share her experience as a young trans person. Her comics especially aim to inspire trans people through a process of empowerment and through positive representations of trans bodies in opposition to non-trans media productions. For two years, Sophie Labelle participates in conferences and workshops all over the world.
Sophie Labelle’s work addresses transphobia and the discrimination of trans people in a creative way, so whether you are a comic fan, an educator, a teacher, a parent, an activist, younger or older: join us for this inspirational meeting!
