Press release

Wou ass d‘Fra?

We are happy to announce that CID will participate in the Fête de la Musique for the first time – and with a world premiere. In collaboration with the City of Luxembourg, we invited selected artists to perform at the Place d’Armes on June 16th.

The event will start at 20h with the Luxembourgish rapper Nicool, who will perform her song ‘Wou ass d’Fra?’ – a commissioned composition by CID – for the very first time. As part of the campaign on structural sexism in Luxembourg’s cultural scene earlier this year, CID asked cultural professionals about their experience with sexism and compiled them in an awareness video. In addition to the ladder, we now present a song: based on the collected statements, Nicool wrote a piece in which she addresses the structural dimension of gender-based discrimination in the cultural sector.

The song will be released on 16.06.23 and will be available on all streaming platforms. Preview Link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YanLlMFy3tem96Zz-H-lZcwemb7CUPyb?usp=sharing

  • Miss Sappho (DJ-Set)
