(EN) This South African documentary film explores the space between who we think society wants us to be versus who we are. Over a period of four years the Romanian filmmaker Tunde Skovran follows the experiences of two Intersex persons, Sharon-Rose Khumalo, a South African beauty queen and Dimakatso Sebidi, a male-presenting intersex activist.
Their parallel but divergent stories show the struggles of living in a “male-female” constructed world when you are born in-between. An impressive film about identity, acceptance and belonging that gives a voice to those born with intersex characteristics.
