As part of Orange Week, the JIF platform addresses a form of violence that is often ignored: obstetrical and gynecological violence!
By obstetrical and gynecological violence we mean gestures, words and medical acts that are not justified or medically necessary, that are contrary to scientific recommendations, that do not respect the legal framework or violate the deontological code, but also those that violate the mental integrity of women and their dignity.
Physical violence is the most easily identifiable form of violence, but there are other forms of violence that can be just as devastating: lack of empathy, misinformation, judgment, inhumane diagnosis, discrimination against sexual minorities, etc. The lack of research and information about our bodies is also a form of violence.
